FALL FISHING DERBY
OVERVIEW | 2023
DERBY GUIDLINES
- Heaviest 3 seabass (combined weight stringer): winning boat takes all (1/3 of Category purse)
- Heaviest 3 blackfish (combined weight stringer): winning boat takes all (1/3 of category purse)
- Heaviest 3 cod (combined weight stringer): winning boat takes all (1/3 of category purse)
- *Note: MACM will collect a 10% tournament administration fee. The remaining balance of $135.00 will be each registrant’s contribution toward their respective category purse and will be divided evenly across the three species (i.e. $45 towards each species).
- *Note: there will be two separate purses (one for each category).
- All fish MUST be weighed in on a MACM scale and measured by a designated MACM ruler and the weight/length must be verified by MACM staff. All REgistrants must sign and verify the recorded weights/lengths on a MACM tournament weigh slip in order to be considered for a winning prize.
- *Note: the tournament registrant is responsible for ensuring that all weigh slips are properly recorded and submitted to MACM staff.
- *Note: black seabass are measured from the tip of the snout (or jaw), with the mouth closed to the farthest extremity of the tail, not including the tail filament.
- All fish MUST be weighed during MACM’s normal business hours.
- *Note: fall business hours will go into effect during the derby, including several Sunday closures. Monitor our website for MACM fall business hours.
- It is the angler’s responsibility to have valid state/federal fishing permits (where applicable). All fish must meet NYS/Federal recreational regulations, guidelines, and limits.
- All fish must be landed on a tournament-registered vessel and must be delivered to the MAcm scale aboard said registered vessel. registrant must be aboard the registered vessel during all tournament fishing and weigh-ins.
- Valid government-issued photo identification of registrant must be presented to MACM staff at each weigh-in.
- The combined weight of each vessel’s largest 3 fish in each species over the course of the tournament will be the aggregate final weight submitted by the end date/time of the tournament. there is no limit to the number of fish that can be weighed for the duration of the tournament.
- Fish may be further investigated or disqualified at the tournament director’s discretion.
- All fish must be caught by rod & reel.
